Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-05-12

By using Sand Chemistry you agree to the following. These terms are written in plain English on purpose; if anything is unclear, email hello@sandchemistry.com.

Purpose

Sand Chemistry is a teaching tool. It predicts likely products and mechanisms for organic-chemistry reactions and is intended for college-level study. It is not a substitute for laboratory procedure, professional advice, or expert review.

Accuracy

Predictions are generated by machine-learning models with known coverage gaps. Some reaction classes are flagged as low-confidence. Always cross-reference any mechanism with your textbook or instructor before using it for an exam, lab, or research decision.

Acceptable use

Account

Google sign-in is optional. If you sign in, you are responsible for keeping your Google account secure. We may suspend access to accounts that violate these terms.

Content

You retain ownership of the chemistry inputs you submit. By submitting them, you grant us a non-exclusive license to process them so we can return a prediction and to cache the result so we don't re-ask the upstream model for the same reaction.

Disclaimer

Sand Chemistry is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that predictions are correct, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will bump the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
